Medical services in Bhutan are basic. It is always better to carry your own first-aid kit, medicines. For serious health condition, it is better to move Thimpu.

Currently there are no vaccinations required for travelling to Bhutan. However, visitors coming from an area infected with Yellow Fever are required to get a Yellow Fever vaccination.

Likewise, visitors arriving from Cholera infected areas should be vaccinated and anti-malarial medication is strongly recommended for travelers visiting rural areas.

Pure spring water, locally bottled from the high mountains is available at almost all shops. Imported bottled water is also available at most stores.
