Discover the rich culture of Bhutan and attend the Black Necked Crane festival at Gangtey/Phobjikha. To the villagers there the arrival of the Black Neck cranes holds great importance. They believe that these endangered birds are the reincarnation of two powerful deities who are said to be the protector of the valley.
The festival is held every year on the 11th of November, coinciding with the birth anniversary celebrations of the 4th Dragon King of Bhutan.
