USEFUL WORDS & PHRASES WHILE TRAVELING IN BHUTAN

Dzongkha. It is also Bhutan’s official language. The word “Dzongkha” means the language (kha) spoken in Dzong. Dzongkha uses same script as Tibetan. Dzongkha, the, is the only language with a native literary tradition in Bhutan. Two other major languages are the Tshanglakha and the Lhotshamkha.

In Bhutan you can see Hindi, Nepali, Bengali, English Languages also. English is the medium of instruction in schools and is widely spoken. There are English road sign, signboard, books, Newspaper, Magazine and menus throughout the country.
